"Delivers lots of botrytis spice, with lemon tart and cooked apple. Full-bodied, with loads of cream and vanilla and an intense tropical fruit and honey aftertaste. Long and viscous, with a layered and beautiful spicy finish. Hard not to drink it now." Wine Spectator Magazine

2005 Les Allees has good colour; a bright fresh pungeant nose of rich plums, some earth, and blind, I thought it had some nice Margaux suppleness (it is just outside Margaux). My notes say - rich, juicy, supple, engaging, balanced, long. Bravo Les Allees.

"The deep ruby-hued 2005 displays aromas of liquorice, roasted herbs, sweet cherries, and flowers. It possesses an ethereal seriousness, purity, and overall harmony that are striking for its delicacy and finesse." Robert Parker

"A particularly successful vintage for this Cru Bourgeois Exceptional at classed-growth level. Consistently good, often outstanding long maturing wine. One of the surest wines in Bordeaux." Hugh Johnson MW

"Floral, blackberry and mineral on the nose. Full-bodied, with supersilky tannins and a pretty finish of mineral and fruit. Very reserved and refined for a second wine." Wine Spectator Magazine

"A dark ruby/purple colour and a bouquet of plums, black raspberries, liquorice, roasted herbs, and incense are followed by a medium to full-bodied, rich, structured, backward wine. Lafon Rochet remains under-priced for the quality of wines it is producing." Robert Parker
