‘With the huge expense undertaken by Suntory since its purchase in 1983, Lagrange has since 1985 produced wines of impressive depth of flavour welded to plenty of tannin, toasty new oak, and an underlying succulence and fatness. Lagrange remains underpriced given the quality level of wines that have emerged.' Robert Parker
‘Chateau Lagrange lies immediately west of Gruaud Larose on the southern end of Saint Julien. The wine is a very good blend of classic Cabernet-blackcurrant, textbook St Julien together with something a little bit solid and earthy. Quality is high these days and still improving and yet prices remain reasonable.' Clive Coates MW

2002 VINTAGE
Wine Spectator (Rating 92)
Pretty aromas of blackberries and currants, with hints of lead pencil. Full-bodied, yet very balanced, with a solid core of fruit and ultrafine tannins. Really well-crafted wine. Excellent. Best after 2008
Provenance - a cold European cellar.
