This is a classical wine, fine and fruit driven with beautiful pinot noir characteristics. We appreciate its purity on the finish.
A beautiful deep garnet-red colour. Particularly fine aromas of cherry and violet. It has a subtle, smooth and fresh palate and remarkably soft tannins. Perfect Balance between sweetness and tartness. It is a complete wine, as "deep" as it is "long".
Provenance - a cold European cellar.

"Stephane Gelin, now aided by his son Emmanuel. presides at Fixin's best domaine. Gelin believs in a long cuvaison at 30-32°, without stalks, and uses about 20% new oak for his top wines. These are rich, substantial wines, the Clos Napoleon a little fatter and more masculine than the Hervelets." Clive Coates, Master of Wine
'Here is a splendid smallish domaine making wines which are destined to become more widely know and appreciated. The terroir at Fixin gives naturally tannic, long-lived wines. Les Hervelets genrally shows more expressive fruit aromas than the Clos Napoloen." Remington Norman, Master of Wine
