"Of a pale colour, this wine expresses a superb nose of white peaches. On the pallet, it is mouth filling and complex, well balanced and elegant. A great success 100% Sauvignon."

2009 VINTAGE

88-90 Less than 100 casks of the Chateau Doisy-Daene Sec were made this year, cropped in the first week of September, 100% Sauvignon sourced in equal measure from Cantegril and from Doisy-Daene. It has an extraordinarily fresh, jack-in-the-box nose with superb definition and minerality. Subtle hints of lime, a touch of pear and wet limestone. The palate is extremely taut with racy acidity, fresh green apple, quite sharp, it really electrifies the mouth with white peach towards the delineated finish. Excellent.
91 (This is a publication of Wine Spectator that they call a 'first look at our editors' most exciting new wines.)
Very juicy and bright with delicious clementine, white peach and straw notes backed by tangy quinine and honeysuckle hints. Very pure with a long racy finish. (Rated higher than Mouton Rothschild's cult Blanc)
88 This wine is made from 100% sauvignon. It shows a very light color and a very aromatic nose. It smells of white peach with a hint of coconut. This dry white offers a great expression on the palate, performing both melting and aromatic. It is delicious! Tensed and long, it delivers taste and a strong hedonistic sensation. The finish lingers over a lemony touch. It is very enjoyable. A success.
92-94 "Of a pale colour, this wine expresses a superb nose of white peaches. On the pallet, it is mouth filling and complex, well balanced and elegant. A great success 100% Sauvignon"
"A subtle aromatic freshness complemented by the softness and intensity of the Sauvignon on the finish. The nature of this wine is fresh and very pleasant, with a great length and finish."

"Doisy Daene produces one of the finest dry wines of the region, Doisy Daene Sec, a full and refreshing, vibrant, fruity white wine. Pierre Dubourdieu, a professor at the Institute of Oenology in Bordeaux, more than anyone else has totally revolutionised the making of white wine in Bordeaux with his classic maceration pelliculaire (skin contact and very cool fermentation temperatures). The aim is to retain their remarkable fruit and freshness and to reduce sulphur to negligible quantities" Robert Parker

"Doisy Daene Sec is made by removing golden Sauvignon berries that are unlikely to attract botrytis and thus retaining the freshness in the wine."Stephen Brook in The Complete Bordeaux

"Doisy Daene Sec, made essentially from Sauvignon Blanc and sold un the Bordeaux Appelation, is a dry, perfumed, full bodied white for early drinking" Oz Clarkes
