"This is exactly what the market is demanding - a lush, heady, classic Bordeaux with plenty of spice box, black berry fruit and mocha offered in a fleshy, succulent style."

2009 VINTAGE

88-90 A big time sleeper of the vintage from the portfolio of Jonathon Maltus, this exuberant, richly fruited 2009 is a blend of 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc. It is exactly what the market is demanding - a lush, heady, classic Bordeaux with plenty of spice box, black berry fruit and mocha offered in a fleshy, succulent style.
88 A rich, ripe concentrated wine, packed with red plum and cherry fruits, lightly layered with tannins. The wine is immediately attractive, juicy, ready to drink. — (2/1/2012)
South China Morning Post 89 85% merlot, 15% cab franc - a lot from the low-lying terroir near to the Dordogne River. There is some crisp purple fruit and good soft tannins. Ever so slightly pinched on the end but overall there is lovely freshness and this is a charming wine.

Pezat is a single vineyard wine literally a pace away from the vineyards of St Emilon Grand Cru. The vineyard has undergone a complete makeover with planting reduced to 1.5 metre spacing that is standard in St Emilion. The wines are showing increased concentartion giving a lavish richness. It is part of the Chateau Teyssier stable of Jonathon Maltus and the wine is made at Chateau Teyssier with the same exacting techniques of Chateau Teyssier.

"Chateau Pezat is exactly what the market is demanding." Robert Parker
