Tasted at Chateau Ausone. Alain Vauthier’s “entry-level” Saint Emilion had a “curled up” nose of raspberry coulis, spice, sweet ‘n sour and plum. The palate has a slightly brusque entry with chalky tannins, but it calms down towards its more elegant finish.

  91

Intense aromas of blueberries and raspberries, with hints of citrus. Full body, with ultra-fine tannins and a fruity finish. Refined and firm.

90

Ripe plums, blackberries. A juicy delicious wine that is classy with its restraint and elegance because it doesn't try too hard. The tannins are silky and smooth balanced by flavours of plums and cedar.

88-91

Pretty Cabernet Franc aromas of crushed berries and some milk chocolate. Medium- to full-bodied, with soft and silky tannins. Long sweet fruit on the finish.
