This 22-hectare estate is situated just 2km north-east of the town of Blaye and has been in the same family since 1850. Pierre and Béatrice Ardoin are the current generation looking after the Château since 1990.
"This is the superstar of the appellation. Chasse Spleen was one of six properties decreed a ‘Cru Bourgeois Exceptionel’ in 1932. The wine is full-bodied, firm and long-lasting, but with a richness and quality of tannins. There have been few, if any, disappointments in the last 25 years."
