Tour Sieujean is located on the western edge of the Pauillac appellation.

While most of the vineyards are in Pauillac (near Ch. Batailley), the château is located in the Haut Medoc across the road from Château Larose Trintaudon.

Before 2002, Tour Sieujean sent its grapes to the Pauillac cooperative winery (Château Larose Pauillac). The family owners decided to withdraw from the co-op to produce better wines and build an estate.

Bordeaux Tasting   Deep purple in colour with well-formed legs; dry, medium, full-bodied with balanced acidity. Dense, dark, juicy-spicy black & red fruit with dusty-gravelly terroir, supple oak, and accents of tobacco and pencil shavings. Very long finish. Delicious, exciting, quite tasty; alive in the mouth. Excellent.

91 A lot of people, critics and consumers alike, peg wines by their ‘status’, rather than concentrating on what’s in their glass. Hi! Here’s a Pauillac, with the vineyard located on the Bages plateau. Dark brooding mineral wine. All about inky tannin and structure, though given a good breathing, the dark cherry, roasted coffee, pencil shavings, and spice come through. Pretty thick and tannic – the munificence of Pauillac and 2009 at play here – with well-bedded acidity, and a pretty long tobacco-laced finish. Very impressive example of Pauillac for the dollars.
