Les Forts de Latour 2000

"Latour is unquestionably the most consistent of Bordeaux’s first growths.

"True to its reputation this wine is as remarkable in the finer vintages as in the lesser ones.

"Generally powerful, tannic, rich, dense, and intense, the wines of Latour are always top flight and extremely long-lived."

— Robert Parker

94 Some call it the second wine of the great first growth of Latour. But it’s a unique wine on its own. It shows blueberry, raspberry and other dark-berry character. It’s so round and delicious, why wait?

18/20 Dark and shaded ruby. Much more complex nose than any wine so far. But quite developed..? I love the minerality and lusciousness-yet-dryness on the finish. Very solid performance and a lovely wine for an extended period, I would say. Very grown up indeed.
